It has been another busy week in the world of British wrestling, with several shows taking place, here are the top news stories you need to know about.
Pro Wrestling Chaos started the weekend with All Of Nothing at the Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre in Bristol this past saturday. Big Grizzly defeated Beano in an ‘Heir To The Throne’ Ladder Match to open the show, while Nathan Bane pinned Chris Andrew and The Brotherhood (James Drake and Joe Mezinger) defeated Project Lucha (Martin Kirby and El Ligero) to retain the Knights Of Chaos Championship. Later in the show, “The Villain” Marty Scurll pinned Dick Riley, Mike Bird & Drew Parker became the no.1 contenders to the Knights Of Chaos Championship in a fatal four way match and Jinny pinned Sierra Loxton to retain the Maiden Of Chaos Championship. Most importantly, the main event saw Matt Riddle defeat “The Pride Of Wales” Eddie Dennis by submission to become the new King Of Chaos Champion.
Meanwhile, in Scotland on Saturday, Premier British Wrestling was live at the Meadow Centre in Dumbarton, featuring some of Scotland’s biggest and best names. Firstly, Davey Blaze pinned Kenny Williams, Aaron Echo defeated Rampage Brown, Grado beat Darkside and Jack Jester defeated Lionheart by pinfall. Krieger & Lou King Sharp defeated Lucha DS & Logan Smith to retain the PBW Tag Team Championship and Stevie Xavier defeated “The Oddity” BT Gunn by pinfall to win the PBW Heavyweight Championship.
Then it was over to Ireland for Over The Top Wrestling’s ‘Contenders 4’ in Dublin on Sunday, where LJ Cleary defeated Fabulous Nicky by disqualification, Terry Thatcher pinned Connor Andrews and Kings Of The North (Bonesaw & Damien Corvin) defeated Club Tropicana. Also on the card, Debbie Kietel pinned Raven Creed, Curtis Murry won a Triple Threat against Kenny Williams & Nathen Martin, Joe Coffey pinned Michael May and the team of Jordan Devlin & Scotty Davis defeated Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) by pinfall.
Lastly in British wrestling this week, PROGRESS Wrestling brought us Chapter 58: Live Your Best Life at the Electric Ballroom in Camden on Sunday evening. Chris Ridgeway defeated Damon Moser by submission in a pre-show match to qualify for the Tetsujin Beauty In Combat II tournament, while Travis Banks retain the PROGRESS World Championship against Matt Riddle by submission and Mark Haskins & Jimmy Havoc teamed up to defeat Maverick Mayhew & Connor Mills by pinfall. Eddie Dennis defeated Jack Sexsmith by referee stoppage and went on to issue a challenge to Travis Banks for a Championship match, while Jinny pinned Dahlia Black in a No DQ match to become the number one contender to the PROGRESS Women’s Championship. Timothy Thatcher also pinned Strangler Davis (after a distraction from Rob Lynch) to become the number one contender to the PROGRESS Atlas Championship. The interference led to a brawl and to Timothy Thatcher issuing an open challenge. Chris Ridgeway accepted but fell to Thatcher by submission. Elsewhere on the card, Joseph Conners pinned Flash Morgan Webster, Toni Storm pinned Alex Windsor to retain the Women’s Championship and finally, Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) defeated CCK (Chris Brookes & Kid Lykos) by submission to win the PROGRESS Tag Team Championship.
