The success of the WWE UK Championship tournament has taken another massive step forward following the culmination of two live events that took place in Norwich over the past two days.
Multiple stars of the independent circuit such as Joseph Conners, Wolfgang and even champion Tyler Bate made appearances but it is the future where the real story lies.
Pete Dunne become the no.1 contender for Bate’s title; a rematch of their epic encounter that took place during the original championship tournament in Blackpool in December 2016.
The two brits who have a combined age of just 44-years-old will battle in Chicago at NXT TakeOver on March 20, with this the next step in the British stars gaining to their own Network show.
The 16th instalment of the TakeOver seroes, which takes place at the Allstate Arena will be the first where the UK Championship will be on a special, with Bate having successful defences over Mark Andrews, Trent Seven and Jack Gallagher in the past.
Also featuring on the TakeOver Chicago card as of right now:
The Authors of Pain (c) vs. #DIY Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano for the NXT Tag-team titles.
Asuka (c) vs. Ruby Riot vs. Nikki Cross for the NXT Women’s championship.
Bobby Roode (c) vs. Hideo Itami for the NXT Championship.
